Virtual Tours

I have been creating virtual tours for a few years now, as I am excited about the technology and by the huge variety of applications it suits. The cross over skills of photography, 360 degree images, video and postproduction technology are a challenging and interesting part of my toolkit.

Virtual tours are a great way to present existing visual assets in a package that can immerse the viewer in the actual location. A virtual tour shoot can be easily incorporated into photoshoot as an add-on.

Some of the things you can present in a virtual tour are:

  • photos, videos, galleries

  • hotspots that can be used to navigate around an environment

  • information pop-ups and overlay graphics

  • embed websites, youtube videos

  • 3D objects

  • floor plans

  • maps or links to google maps

With the increasing availability of 360 cameras, it has never been easier to capture 360 content in still or video form.

This Westgold 360 video is an example: (Use your mouse to pan around.)
